Hints for Slide ERG 15.

Hopefully, you have identified the following tissues:

  • Striated muscle, arrow 1.
  • Dense fibrous tissue, arrow 2.
  • Adipose tissue, arrow 3.
  • Glandular tissue, arrow 4.

The quality of the glandular tissue, and the association of this glandular tissue with such extensive fibrous and adipose stroma, are the principle clues in this specimen.

The striated muscle assures that this specimen did not come from the peritoneal (or pleural or pericardial) cavity.

Hints on the next page are much more revealing.  Don't look until you are ready to confirm your identification.

More hints.
