Uterus, epithelium and connective tissue
Simple columnar epithelium lines the mucosa of the uterus.
The entire uterine lining, called endometrium, including this epithelium, is sloughed off during menstruation. This image represents the mature, secretory phase of the organ.
The uterine epithelium is supported by loose connective tissue.
