Hints for Slide CRR 08.
- Hopefully, you recognized this as a solid organ (the white central space is an artifact) surrounded by a capsule of dense connective tissue (1).
- Hopefully, you also recognized the numerous patches of small, round cells (3) as lymphoid tissue, and that many patches are associated with small arteries.
- You may now be able to write a short list of lymphoid-tissue organs (key for lymphoid tissues).
- Note that the background stroma (4) includes red blood cells mixed in with lots of lymphocytes.
- Note that eosinophilic masses (5) are strands of dense connective tissue.
- Only one organ has the combination of features (size, shape, distribution of lymphoid tissue, vasculature, etc.) noted above.
No more hints.
