Fallopian Tube

Notes

The mucosal lining of the fallopian tube is simple columnar epithelium, consisting of two cell types -- secretory cells and ciliated cells.  Secretory cells, which are similar to but not as conspicuous as goblet cells, provide lubrication.  Cilia, rather than muscular contraction, provide the principal motive power to move an egg toward the uterus.
