Adrenal Cortex, zona fasciculata
Notes
This image shows the relatively straight cords or columns of steroid-secreting cells which form the zona fasciculata of the adrenal cortex.
Note that the parenchymal cells have round nuclei and boxy, polyhedral shape, with conspicuous and vacuolated cytoplasm. In contrast, the endothelial cells lining the sinusoids have flattened nuclei and inconspicuous cytoplasm.
