Notes
This slides shows the transition between the stomach (on the right) and the small intestine (on the left).
Note how mucosal glands (on right, above the dashed white line) give way to submucosal glands (on left, below the dashed white line), and how a fairly "solid" mucosa (with pits and glands, on right) gives way to a velvety mucosa (with villi, on left). Also note the pronounced thickening of the muscularis externa at this location, forming the pyloric sphincter.
